Salah Issues Apology to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
