David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
