Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, according to reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
